To our amazing Hairsoda Community

After an incredible journey, we have had to make the deeply difficult decision to permanently close the doors of Hairsoda North Vancouver.

Navigating the rising costs of doing business and the economic shifts of the past few years has been an immense challenge. While this chapter is coming to an end, our primary focus right now is celebrating the incredible community we built and protecting the futures of our talented team members.

Rest assured to all our loyal guests that your client files, formulas, and history are completely safe. Our stylists are transitioning to wonderful new local spaces, and we are actively helping them move their client bases seamlessly so your hair care is not disrupted.

We want to extend the deepest, most profound thank you to every client, friend, and family member who walked through our doors, shared a laugh in our chairs, and supported this dream. You made Hairsoda a truly special place, and we are forever grateful for the love you showed us.

Thank you for all the memories

A Personal Message From Shawn:

This decision has not been easy, and honestly, it is one that should have happened a long time ago. I’ve been trying to navigate running this business while dealing with a lot of personal difficulties that life has thrown my way, and it has taken a massive toll. With the current economy, the reality is that our pricing simply didn't reflect the actual cost of doing business anymore.

I know how shocking this news is, but for my own personal health and the future of my team, I have to let go and start the next chapter. I want the absolute best for my staff, and my priority right now is ensuring they transition into supportive new spaces. They are all going to absolutely kill it no matter where they go.

As for me, I am stepping back to focus strictly on what I love most: doing hair for my incredible clients, spending time with my family and reclaiming my personal health. I will continue to work at my Yaletown location and also join a fantastic salon in North Vancouver to accommodate clients a few days out of the month. Things will look a little different, and some things will have to change, but I want the rest of this year to be my best version yet.

I will be forever grateful to my dad, who physically built this amazing salon and was such a beam of inspiration to me. Losing him a few years ago was a huge loss and extremely hard on both Ruth and I but we stayed strong and came to work with our heads held high. I look forward to having more time to spend with my mom and just be a son to her. There is so much love, history, and emotion inside these walls, but it is time to move on. Thank you to every single person who has supported me, shown me love, and been along for this wild ride.

To my personal clients: I’ll be working one day a week at Zazou Lonsdale and the remainder of the week in Yaletown.

With all my love and gratitude,

Shawn
